Pikachu

Pikachu

The main Pokémon of the good guys, Pikachu is usually considered the cutest Pokémon of all by many.   Not me!  There are plenty of adorable ones like Vulpix, Eevee, Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Mew, Togepi, and Horsea.  And yet... there's that certain charm that only the electric mouse has.  In any case, it is loved by many fans of the show, and as far as I can see, it's the most powerful one.  You know it's dangerous when it causes an ONIX pain with an electric attack!

Pikachu is owned by Ash, and at first was very reluctant to go with him.  Not 20 seconds after they first met, Ash received his first thundershock, then was shocked twice more before actually getting started on his journey.  You don't want to anger this thing!   Somehow it knows more attacks than the average one, making it that much more dangerous.  Then again, it chickens out a lot.  If it would just stay in its Pokéball, it wouldn't have much of a choice when called out.  But I guess it's better that Pikachu is free.  It leads to a lot of really cute (and sometimes funny) pictures.  It seems to like riding on Ash's head a lot, which is cute.   Sometimes it does walk on its own, but unlike many Pikachu, it usually walks on its hind legs.

Pikachu is usually the first thing that comes to your mind when the word Pokémon is mentioned.   With some exceptions.  But in any case, whenever I'm talking Pokémon at school, anyone who has no idea what it is asks if I'm talking about that Pukachu (pronounced 'Puke-a-chu') show.  The only joy I get out of it is that at least they don't call anime 'that Sailor Moon crap' anymore.  Now it's 'that Pikachu/Pokémon crap'.  Ah well.

What else is there to say about this little creature?  It refused to evolve once, which was really brave of it (at least, Meowth and James thought so).  And its favorite foods are apples and ketchup.  Ah, the ketchup.  Poor Ash, can't eat when Pikachu's got the ketchup, he can consider the food he's eating to be ruined by excess ketchup poured on it.  Why does it like the stuff, anyway?  I don't see it.  Maybe it reminds it of apples.  I dunno.  But it's the only reason I like the Scyther episode.

If it wasn't for this Mokona wannabe, I may not have ever watched Pokémon!  It looked like a silly show when I first saw it, and I used the excuse 'well, Pikachu is cute' to watch the next day.  And I got hooked.

Who'd have thought?
